Slowly it seems that microgeneration time may be coming....
Feed-in tariffs by April 2010 - if the tariffs are generous enough, and designed to step-change the UK microgeneration market - may make the difference.Â
But capital up front remains a problem, particularly with an owner staying at his address for an average of less than 10 years. Low cost loans - possibly linked to the house not the owner - or ways to confirm the added value that microgeneration equipment may make to your property, will still be needed.
So Ed Milliband's words are welcome. Can the UK government act with the unity of purpose to make energy efficiency and microgeneration significant in the UK? Here's to hoping.
